Following the huge success of last year, which saw Mercatum named in the UK press as one of the top ten Christmas markets in the country, this year’s event promises to be bigger, better and more captivating than ever.
As in previous years, Mercatum 2026 will take place in the beautifully decorated rooms, galleries and courtyard of Medieval Haddon. Over 750 talented artisans and makers will showcase their work over six weeks, with artisans changing each week, creating a luxurious and unique Christmas shopping experience. You’ll find a diverse range of crafts, including ceramics, art, chocolates, jewellery, candles, artisan stationery, perfumes, and much more, both inside and outside the Hall, all set against a truly festive backdrop.
Mercatum is more than just a festive market. Haddon Hall’s fairytale surroundings become especially magical during the season, adorned with twinkling lights, elegant decorations, and stunning Christmas trees. Visitors can indulge in delicious street food, hot chocolate, and mulled wine from various stalls while enjoying live music that completes the cosy, festive atmosphere.

Pre-booking is essential. Tickets are available for three timed sessions each day of opening (morning, afternoon and twilight).

Hebden Bridge Open Studios Christmas Event
Our next Open Studios will be 4-6 December.
Venues will be open 10.30am to 5pm on Friday 4th, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December, with just the Methodist Church opening a bit later at 11.30am on Sunday. Please check the leaflet and online listings for those not opening Friday.

Winter Saltaire Makers Fair
The Saltaire Makers Fair, taking place twice a year for over 15 years in the UNESCO
World Heritage village of Saltaire, is a chance to meet some of the UK’
s best
designer-makers and to buy or commission original pieces of contemporary craft and
design. This Winter, Saltaire Inspired is thrilled to once again present an exceptional
range of carefully selected exhibitors, some returning with new collections and others
showing in Saltaire for the first time.

Victoria Hall, at the heart of Saltaire village, will play host to 70+ designer-makers
across three rooms and over two floors. The Winter Saltaire Makers Fair offers
unique but affordable contemporary craft and design to buy or commission, from
a carefully curated selection of the UK’
s most talented designer-makers.

There will be free demonstrations by exhibitors over the weekend - visitors will be
able to discover more about the crafts of pottery, printmaking, textiles, jewellery
making and more, with the opportunity to try their hand in some activities too.

The popular Art Tombola will make a return on Saturday afternoon and all day on
Sunday, giving the chance for visitors to win a piece of unique handmade
contemporary craft, generously donated by some of the exhibitors.
Endless Love Creative Autumn Makers Market
Join Endless Love Creative for a day of beautiful design. Browse stalls full of handmade and locally designed goods from over 60 extraordinary artists and makers from across the UK, each event we host will feature a unique curation. Take your time across two floors, come with friends or make it a solo date. We’ll be joined by Acid House Coffee serving up North Star brews, Fennell’s Ice cream with exquisite seasonal flavours and Gulligull will be crafting balloon magic as well as hosting hit workshop “Grow your Own”
